Can it be? Bruce Pearl may be returning to Iowa!!! Illini fans would just love that! Personally, I think he will stay at Tennessee where he seems to be building a nice program where others like Buzz Peterson and Kevin O'Neill failed. BTW, UIC Badger, Pearl was at Wisconin-Milwaukee for 4 seasons, so he went to the Sweet sixteen with his own recruits, not Bo Ryan's!
Back to back 20 wins season was not enough as Stan Health was fired by Arkansas. This article suggests that Billy Gillispie from Texas A & M is considered the front-runner for the Arkansas job. But if Gillispie is also being considered for the Kentucky job, why would he want this on. Then again, Kentucky fans think that Billy Donovan is all but wrapped up for the Kentucky job. But could it be that Donovan is more interested int he Miami heat job? Ahh, the coaching carousel turns and turns!

Hoyas: "Travelin' Man"
"I'm a travelin' man I've made a lot of stops all over the world And in every part I own the heart Of at least one lovely girl
I've a pretty Seniorita waiting for me Down in old Mexico If you're ever in Alaska stop and see My cute little Eskimo
Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town Makes my heart start to yearn And my China doll down in old Hong Kong Waits for my return
Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea I remember the night When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki And I held you oh so tight
Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town Makes my heart start to yearn And my China doll down in old Hong Kong Waits for my return
Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea I remember the night When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki And I held you oh so tight
Oh, I'm a travelin' man Yes, I'm a travelin' man..."

UNLV v. Oregon: Oregon is the better team, talent-wise and I picked them to win in my bracket. But, there is something about UNLV in this tournament. Lon Kruger has taken a team to the Final Four (no, it wasn't the Illini) when he took Florida in 1994. This is a tough one to pick (allowing me to post pictures of both Miss Oregon and Miss Nevada), so I guess I will stay with my original pick of the Ducks.
Georgetown v. Vanderbilt: I am not a big fan of Georgetown. I mean, how good can a team be if it lost to Duke this year!? Okay, the Hoyas are playing very well thus far in the tourney. Georgetown has already beated Vandy this season. Vanderbilt-I like their coach, Kevin Stallings since his days at Illinois State, plus I would love to see an academic school advance (take that-Northwestern!). Georgetown definitely has the advantage in the frontcourt. Vandy has SEC player of the year Derrick Byars. Finally, one more reason why I'm picking Vanderbilt- check out that picture of Miss Tennessee!!!
Florida v. Butler: If you had seen my brackets, you would not be relying on my picks. I have to root for Horizon League member, a team that I have actually seen in person this year. Butler has three decent players-A.J. Graves (whom I believe was the Horizon League player of the year), Mike Green and Brandon Crone. Florida has a huge size and talent adavantage. For Butler to have a chance, A.J. Graves, at times a very streaky shooter, will have to have an incredible game. Plus it will have to be a game in the 50s or 60s. If the game is in the 70s or 80s, its over for Butler. Hopefully the Butler faithful will make the trip from Indy to St. Louis. Unfortunately, and I hope I'm wrong but, I just don't see the Bulldogs winning. Florida by 10.

THANK GOD FOR TIVO!
A new season of "Dancing with the Stars" starts tonight. Now I have never watched this show before, but I'm going to try to catch it for two reasons- Paulina Porizkova and Shandi Finnesey! Do yourself and rent the movie http://www.mrskin.com/Movies/02417/Thursday.htm "Thursdays" to see former SI swimsuit model Paulina torture a man in the best possible way!
As for Shandi Finnesey, the pictures of her that I have seen on the internet, I can only hope that this BODY gets as much exposure as possible. As an added bonus, my girlfriend wants to watch to she if Heather Mills will lose her leg during any of the routines!!!

You gotta love this quote from Royce Waltsman, recently fired as Indiana State's basketball coach when asked about his chances for another head coaching position: "Well, I can't get a head coaching job, because if you get fired for cheating you can get hired right back again," Waltman said. "But if you get fired for losing you're like you've got leprosy. Young coaches need to keep that in mind. Cheating and not graduating players will not get you into trouble, but boy losing will."
Forbes.com picks Kevin McHale as the top GM in all sports!!! Beleive it or not, Billy King is also in the top five. Gee, my old friend Glen Grunwald was robbed- if he was still GM of the Raptors he would have been a lock for the top five and probably would have pushed McHale for #1!
