CARMEN ELECTRA IS A VERY GOOD PERSON
Next time you have something bad to say about Carmen Electra- keep the following in mind.
Carmen & Kim Kardasian recently appeared at Comic-Con, giving numerous nerds the thrill of a life-time.
If that's not enough- one of the K-Line's favorites, Jennifer Ellison recently stated that: She would like to mud-wrestle Carmen Electra!

We need more giving, caring, good people in this world.

BOTH SIDES OF TOWN WERE SHORT-HANDED IN THE BULLPEN ON FRIDAY. The White Sox were able to overcome this problem, the Cubs were not. For the second game in a row, the Sox overcome major deficits with late home runs- beating the Tigers in Detroit. The Cubs at home, fell 3-2 to the Marlins when a over-used bullpen sans Wood received a very un-Wrigley-like lack of offensive power.
Overheard a the Cubs' game yesterday- Seating behind a father with his son (about 7 years old). Father tells son: "That's Dan Ugga. He lost the All-Star for us. It's because of him that we won't have game 7 of the World Series here (Wrigley)" Gee.

FRIDAY PLANS-
It will be a crazy morning in the office. But hopefully I can get out in time for beers in Wrigley (Go FISH!). Then tonight, of course watching the Sox game- but at some point this weekend, in honor of the Brett Favre to Tampa Bay rumors, I got to watch "Tampa Bay Cheerleaders: Making the Team" on the NFL Network!

WHY ISN'T KERRY WOOD ON THE DL?
He hasn't pitched since July 11th and today he going to see a hand expert- because he couldn't throw his fastball in the bullpen!!!!!
Are the Cubs' that concerned that every Chicago sportwriter predicted that Wood would end up on the DL at some point this season and the Cubs don't want to prove them right?!

BOSTON WRITER RIPS ON ANGELS
Dan Shaugnessy of the Boston Globe isn't worried about the Red Sox v. the Angels in the playoffs. Who has the best record in baseball? The Los Angeles California Angels of Anaheim. The Angels have just swept the Red Sox (although in some defense of Shaugnessy he wrote this article before Sunday's game). And the Red Sox? Well the Red Sox are still looking up at the Rays. But still, Shaugnessy decides to provide the Angels' locker room with bulletin board material for October. Someone should remind Shaugnessy that the baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint- and it's not the Boston Marathon!

ALL-STAR BREAK
-With the All-Star Break upon us, and while I wait for my cable station to add the new "Favre Channel (all Brett Favre 24/7!), it is a perfect time to continue with the listings of the "Revised Top Twenty Five Sports Wives\Girlfriends!" We left off at #20, and the list is in a constant state of flux.

BASEBALL ALL-STAR EDITION
1. Brett Favre Soap Opera- I don't care if Brett comes back, if he goes to another team (unless it's the Bears or the Vikings), or he's a "back-up" for the Pack (ha!), but one thing is clear. It is even more apparent that SI naming Brett Favre as "Sportsman of the Year" was a joke (unless SI's definition of "Sportsman" is different than mine). Brett Favre cares about himself a hell of alot more than he cares about the Pack or the NFL. Brett Favre being a mentor for Aaron Rodgers- please! He has been no help for Aaron thus far.
2. Players voting for All-Stars- not so good: Jason Varitek (A.J. - if you weren't the most hated player in baseball, you would be in with much better stats than Varitek); Joe Crede (deserved it in 2005 and 2006, but not this year. For White Sox position players, I would rank these players as deserving the All-Star nod before Crede: 1. Carlos Quinton, 2. JD, 3. A.J., 4. Cabrera and then 5. Crede); and Carlos Marmol (picked to replace Kerry Wood because he had the next highest amount of votes from his fellow players).

JAG'S MATT JONES ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES
Add to the lsit of 2005 NFL Draft F-ups, as WR Matt Jones (who was a QB in college), a 2005 1st round pick of the Jags, was arrested after "officers found him in a parked car, cutting up what was suspected to be cocaine." Word was prior to this that Jones was sliding down the depth charge and was in danger of being cut by Jacksonville. "HE GONE!"

I LOVE CHICAGO
(EXCEPT FOR THE DAMN SALES TAX!)
I know I already posted a pic of Jennifer Ellison this morning, but I just had to post one more. This morning I take the bus into work (gas prices and all), and I get a seat in the back of the bus. Well the bus ride from Lincoln Park to downtown usually has at least one or two attractive women to distract me for the morning paper. But, on this ride, I see a women who is an absolute Jennifer Ellison look alike!! Think Jennifer, a little older (early 30s), skinnier and not surgically enhanced. Fashionably dressed- wearing white pants through which one can clearly see a black throng. Very appropriate office-wear. I love this town. I post a pic of Jennifer Ellison before I leave for work and she appears on the bus!! Tomorrow I will post a pic of Carmen Electra and Gisele before I get on the bus and we will see what happens.

With all due respect to the Tampa Bay Rays, let's look past the constant Red Sox-Yankees view of the baseball world and look at what is now, especially with the Brewers' acquisition of CC, the center of the baseball world- the Midwest: Milwaukee, Chicago (North & South side), Minnesota, and St. Louis!!
(I guess I should include Detroit, too.)
