While I picked the Rays and was rooting for them (an American League guy), I certainly wasn't rooting against the Phillies.

How could you not like Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins (dang, with those three the Phillies should be in the play-offs every year) and one of my new favorite players-Shane!

The Phillies had just enough pitching- Hamels, Myers, Moyer and Blanton plus redemption for Brad Lidge whose last visit to the World Series including offering up a walk-off home run ball to Scotty Pods!

Here's what I don't understand. I have been told (my sister-in-law watches it) that there is a fairly popular show on TV about a family with 8 kids. So rather than filing for bankruptcy and avoiding his obligations to his kids, why not get a big old house and raise all the kids on his own reality show. If the Babies' Mommies want to leave with them- the more the merrier! You don't think VH1- with shows like Flavor of Love and all its offsprings of shows, e.g., I Love New York-would broadcast this! Caffey can coach his kids- two full basketball teams- in full court games. All we need is a good name for the show. Big Caffey's House? Jason Plus 10, with More on the Way?

When HM (or was it GOP M?) was in town last week, we meet (along with the fairly pale alleged Hispanic) for drinks and apps at an establishment where a UFC Meet and Greet was going to take place. I was pretty excited about the UFC event, until HM explained to me that there would be no WWE Divas present and UFC and the WWE are too completely different things!

Or well, at least it looks like the WWE Divas are preparing themselves for Halloween!

So we know that Lute is retiring, but who's taking over?

Last year, it was supposed to be (former Marquette-Tennessee-Northwestern-Toronto Raptors coach) Kevin O'Neill. Well that didn't work out (word was that Lute was not happy with the job that O'Neill did last year as interim coach. O'Neill is now an assistant with the Grizzlies.

Well yesterday, it was reported that Mike Dunlap would be named the interim head coach.

And today, it is being reported that Dunlap has turned down the job, and that Russ Pennell will be named interim head coach!
