Mike Anderson Follows K-Line's Advice-

stays at Missouri.

And promises to destroy the Illini in the annual Border War!

Georgia Basketball Vacancy

ESPN is reporting that Georgia has offered its basketball coaching position to Missouri's Mike Anderson.
Do you really want to go to a football school? Stay at Missouri and beat the Illini in the annual border war next year!

Will The Lakers Have Andrew Bynum Back for the Playoffs?!

Well, his rehab at the Playboy Manson (with some light lifting-pictures of "weights" included) may answer the question.

WTF?!

All I can say is, thank God that Metallica interrupts the show!

SORRY MARMOL, CUBS NAME FORREST GREGG AS CLOSER

With Kerry Wood gone to Cleveland, it was supposed to be Marmol turn to be the Cubs' closer. Well, at least not at the start of the season. And on second look, it's not Forrest Gregg, but Kevin Gregg. The first time Mr. Gregg blows a save at Wrigley, the lubricated faithful will be screaming for Marmol.

Stephen Curry's younger brother, Seth, Transferring to Duke

Right now, I will take any good news I can get for DUKE (Carolina & UConn both in the final four). Maybe he can talk older brother, Stephen to come over for one year.

RANDOM JUMBLED THOUGHTS ON A FRIDAY

1. No other way to state it: Villanova kick Duke's ass last night. HM has a post on it (where, among other things, he questions why Duke did not try some zone); not much more I can add. Duke needs to recruit some athletic players and a pure point guard, at the very least.

2. Bulls win again last night and are now tied for the 7th playoff spot in the East. Since I have given Paxson a lot of crap for his failings as a GM, let me give me kudos for his pre-trade deadline moves which certaintly improved the Bulls.

3. Still trying to figure out what's going on in this picture. Well, I certaintly enjoy the thought of a group of young attractive women taking their panties off, I then take a look at the background of this picture and it appears that this activity is at some type of Disney sponsored event? So, WTF!?

4. Are you participating in Earth Hour Saturday night?

THE SWEET SIXTEEN:

Ranked according to my rooting interest.

1. DUKE- duh!!

2. Louisville- I picked them to win in my brackets.
3. Oklahoma- Jeff Capel (could go down as, by far, the most successful former Coach K player in the coaching ranks) & Blake Griffin (further proof that he's better than Tyler)
4.Memphis- What if Calipari wins the National Championship with this team, after all the stars he lost from last year's team.
5. Gonzaga- no longer a Cinderella, but not from a major conference, so would piss-off the BCS schools.
6. Xavier- (see Gonzaga).
7. Pittsburgh- Jamie Dixon seems like a good guy.
8. Kansas- another championship for Bill Self would really piss-off Illini fans calling for Bruce Weber's head.
9. Syracuse- used to hate Boeheim. Not as much any more.
10. Villanova- Catholic school.
11. Missouri- can't name one player on the team; but, this would further prove that they were right in firing Quin Snyder.
12. Purdue-would make my old law school roommate happy.
13. Michigan State- not a fan of the Big Ten, but Izzo is one of the better coaches in the nation.
14. Arizona- still say they didn't belong in the tourney.
15. UConn- the only reason UConn is not at #16,
16. Tarholes- the rivalry runs deep. But, with a healthy Lawson will be very tough to beat.

TODAY'S TRIBUTE

is for Slippery Pete aka The Fish, who leads in the current standings of our group's brackets (22 out of 24!), despite the fact that he's living in Poland!
Why this picture? Well, it was either her picture or a picture of former Blue Hen QB Jeff Komlo!

Just wondering- can USC advance past BC?

NCAA TOURNEY, DAY ONE

How does you bracket look?
No real upsets on Day One (I gotta think most people picked Western Kentucky over Illinois); so, will we get the upsets today?

NCAA Brackets, Part II

Then again, Tennessee over Oklahoma State isn't an awful pick, right?

NCAA Brackets

Damn, maybe I made a mistake in picking Tennessee over Oklahoma State in the first round.

I'm Sorry, Jemele Hill is awful!

Not that you are gonna watch ESPN's " First Take" anyway.

HOW DO YOU BEAT THE CELTICS?

Well, you wear green (for St. Patty's) to confuse them (and the TV viewers).
John Salmons scoring 38 points also helps.

SELECTION SUNDAY, PART 4

This may be the only time I side with Dick Vitale over Jay Bilas.

SELECTION SUNDAY, PART 3

ARIZONA-IN?
Record: 19-13
RPI: 63!
OUT:
San Diego St. (23-9) RPI: 37
Creighton (26-7) RPI: 39
St. Mary's (26-6) RPI: 48
Why even bother with the RPI?

SELECTION SUNDAY, PART 2

...and Mississippi State just won the SEC, bursting someone else's bubble!

IT'S SELECTION SUNDAY! WHAT YOU GONNA DO- GO BOWLING!?

C'mon, you are gonna be glued to the TV set.
You have the Big Ten, ACC and SEC championship games and then it's Selection time?
Who are the #1 seeds? How many Big Ten teams will make the tournament (does Wisconsin really deserve a bid?)?

Baylor 76, Texas 70

BAYLOR-Stayin' Alive!

JARIC ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSUALT

Isn't his defense pretty simple- "C'mon, I got Adriana Lima, why do I need anyone else?"
Then again, if the accusations are true, "Bye-Bye, Adriana!"

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS TOO MUCH?

I ponder this question at 12:15am, as I watch the 6th overtime of the Syracuse v. UConn tilt.

At this point, its Syracuse 120, UConn 112.

Miss March

Based on the trailer, this movie looks pretty bad; however, Co Ed Magazine is using the opening of this film as a good opportunity to share "A Month of Miss March: 31 Playmates and Pets of March."

Lane Kiffin...putting a smile on Al Davis' face!

Somewhere, Al Davis, is smiling.

As Al S. told us, Lane Kiffin has the reputation of being an ass. Well, the latest is the report from a South Carolina recruit ("Game!.....Cocks!....Game!....Cocks") and his high school coach that Kiffin told the recruit if he signs with South Carolina, he will end up pumping gas along with all the other USC grads! (I'm wondering, don't they have self-serve pumps in South Carolina?)

Kiffin is, of course, denying this report. Okay, why would the kid and his high school coach make this story up? And based on what we do know of Kiffin, how could you not believe this story when you hear it.

At the very least, Kiffin might want to actually win a game in the SEC before he pisses off every coach in the conference. And somewhere, Al Davis is smiling.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK!

THE MADNESS HAS STARTED!!!
DePaul, win less in the Big East regular season and at times looking like a JC team, has just defeated Cincinnati in the first round of the Big East tournament! DePaul was on an 18 game losing streak and its last victory was against Alcorn State. Oh by the way, Cincy, your bubble just burst!

MATT JONES WILL HAVE TO WATCH MOST OF CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK FROM JAIL

Matt Jones is sitting a jail cell right now, after admitting that he was drinking and therefore violated his parole.
Loser!

DAVIDSON LOSES IN CONFERENCE TOURNEY

The chances of seeing Stephen Curry and Davidson in this year's NCAA tourney are very slim, with Davidson's loss to the College of Charleston in the SoCon semis.
But we could see former Georgia Tech coach, Bobby Cremins, returning to the Big Dance if C of C can win the SoCon tourney tonight.

Could Northwestern FINALLY Make The Big Dance?

The Wildcats' defeat of Purdue gives Northwestern a record of 17-11. A victory or two in the Big Ten Tourney could finally mean that Northwestern will no longer be the only team from a BCS conference to NEVER make the Big Dance.

ESPN IS REPORTING THAT MANNY HAS SIGNED WITH THE DODGERS!!

Amen!-Now we can all proceed with plans for the
Chicago White Sox-LA Dodgers World Series!
