What about the Cubs?!!
MORE DEALING FROM KENNY WILLIAMS?!
Latest rumor has newly acquired Edwin Jackson going to the Nats as part of a package for Adam Dunn followed by the Sox making a move for P Brett Myers.
Something to keep in mind from a post about the Sox trade for Edwin Jackson:
QUOTE:

As a Twins fan I would like to thank Kenny Williams for todays move.
Okay.
Need to Take a break from all the Baseball trade rumors
Your Starting Pitcher for Tonight's Game....
Lucas Harrell, who was 9-9 with a 4.24 ERA in 22 starts for Class AAA Charlotte. He has been in the Sox farm system for seven years.
More from espnchicago.com:
Harrell to make ML debut with White Sox
By Doug Padilla
CHICAGO -- Since newly-acquired pitcher Edwin Jackson won’t be able to arrive to U.S. Cellular Field by game time tonight, right-hander Lucas Harrell will come up from Triple-A Charlotte to make his major-league debut.
Harrell, a second-round pick in 2004, is 9-9 with a 4.24 ERA, taking half his starts in the hitter-friendly ballpark in Charlotte. He moved himself up the pitching depth chart last year when he went 12-4 with a 3.27 ERA in 25 starts between Double-A Birmingham and Charlotte.
The 25-year-old will wear uniform No. 58 when he faces the Oakland A’s tonight. In seven seasons in the White Sox’s system, Harrell is 42-37 with a 3.79 ERA.
Joe Cowley Says its Official, so it must be.
But Cowley also tweets:
Deal is official, but day is not over ... Trust me.
BTW, that's not a picture of Joe Cowley.
White Sox Get Edwin Jackson?
SI.com and, more importantly, Dueling Couches are reporting that the beloved White Sox have acquired Edwin Jackson from the Diamondbacks for pitching prospects Daniel Hudson and David Holmberg
http://duelingcouches.blogspot.com/2010/07/breaking-news-edwin-jackson-traded-to.html
Hudson was scheduled to pitch tonight, so we will have to wait and see. Nothing official from the White Sox yet (or even from Joe Cowley on his twitter account).

Tigers Acquire Jhonny Peralta
The Tigers needed to make some type of move, because they have been nose-diving lately with injuries piling-up. I doubt that Peralta is enough , but it should put some pressure on Kenny Williams to make a move. Adam Dunn? Fielder? Lilly?
Will the Twins make a move?
Hot rumor has Cubbie Ted Lilly going to to the Twins Cities, but Minnesota is one of the teams on Lilly's no-trade list.
The next few days should be interesting, if nothing else!

D Lee Blocks Trades Better than He Blocks Punches
Cubs 1B D Lee apparently blocked a trade to the LA Angels of Anaheim California West Coast and has told the Cubs that he will block any other trades!
He states that he wants to stay a Cub!
Why (besides living in the Greatest City in the world!!)?
Will he still want to stay a Cub after Big Z, Carlos Zambrano returns to the Cubs, later this week?
http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/07/report-lee-tells-cubs-he-wont-agree-to-a-trade.html
With another lose to the Astros today, the Cubs are done and should trade away they can outside of Castro, Colvin and Cashner. But Lee, at least for now, is having no part of that.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!

I Withdraw My Previous Apology To Bobby Jenks!

Sox's Jenks honored; first-half comparisons
July 6, 2010 3:21 PM No Comments
By Mark Gonzales
White Sox closer Bobby Jenks was selected as Major League Baseball's Delivery Man of the Month for June.
Jenks led the majors with 10 saves in June and had an 0.75 ERA in 13 appearances. Jenks has converted 12 consecutive save chances dating back to May 11.
Here's a statistical 81-game comparison of the Sox in 2009 and 2010:
Year record batting average runs home runs ERA
2009 42-39 .260 362 96 3.94
2010 43-38 .252 355 88 4.19
From my post on May 26, 2010:
Despite Joe West's and Bobby Jenks' best/worst efforts, the White Sox hold on to a 5-4 win over the Tribe.
I thought I would be posting about Joe West but Bobby has taken away some of that thunder.
Jenks' enters the 9th with a 5-1 lead.
And this is what follows:
double, walk, single, walk (run in 5-2), base hit (2 run in, 5-4); STILL NO OUTS, sacrifice bunt (1 out), intentional walk, strike-out (2 outs), flyout!!
Badger and I debated whether or not the Sox should have gotten rid of Jenks during the offseason. I said yes, while you could have still gotten something for him. Sadly, it looks like I was correct. Sox have other options at closer- Thornton, JJ Putz and even the rookie Santos (Bobby Jenks was not the Opening Day roster in 2005, so why not try Santos!?).
Yikes!!!
Back to Joe West. He has now tossed Ozzie three times. Watch the replay of him tossing Buerhle. Joe West should not be allowed to ump any Yankees, Red Sox, or White Sox games.

Bad Time for the All-Star Break
Not happy with the All-Star Break coming right now. When your team is on a 8 game winning streak and 25 out of 30, the last thing you wnat is to stop playing for 3 days.
Hopefully the rest will not stop the hot streak
Will JJ Redick Be a Bull?
Bulls signed Redick to a 3-year $19 million offer sheet. All indications are that the Magic will match the offer for the restricted free agent.
Meaning the Bulls still need a shooting guard.
UPDATED: It now looks like the Bulls may in fact get Redick
