MORE ON THE CUBBIES.....

Couldn't help but recall something I posted back in July after I attended a Cubs-Marlins game.

"Overheard a the Cubs' game yesterday- Seating in the row behind me, a father with his son (about 7 years old). Father tells son: "That's Dan Ugga. He lost the All-Star for us. It's because of him that we won't have game 7 of the World Series here (Wrigley)" Gee.

Maybe it's the Phillies fans and Dodgers fans who should be pissed at Ugga (although he did not lose the All-Star game). On the day after the All-Star Game, local sports radio was flooded with callers- bitchin' that the NL defeat in the All-Star could cost the Cubbies the World Series because the Cubs were a much better home than road team.

CAN THE RAYS GET PAST THE RED SOX? THIS COULD HELP

The White Sox Post-Season ride is OVER! (Tampa bay is real good!) Feeling a little down right now, but at least we're not the Cubs!!!!!

There is always next year- unless you're are a Cubs fan (101 years!)

FORGOT TO REPORT THAT EARLIER THIS WEEK, THE WINLESS BENGALS (THE FOOTBALL TEAM NOT THE CHEERLEADING BEN-GALS) SIGNED RUNNING BACK CEDRIC BENSON. AS FAR AS I KNOW CED-BEN IS NO RELATION TO ANNA BENSON, BUT ANNA IS MUCH MORE DESERVING OF HAVING HER PIC ON THE K-LINE, ESPECIALLY NEXT TO SOME OF THE BEN-GALS!

DODGERS WALLOP CUBS!

Wrigleyville in state of shock/disbelief/panic.

Who to blame:

1. Bartman? According to the "Book of Sport Curses", the Bartman curse can last for years. Cubs have not won a playoff game since that fatal night.

2. The Goat? Not even sure how this goofy curse works anymore, but some dumbass tried to bring a goat into Wrigley for Game #1.

3. Stupid Cubs Fans (not all Cubs fans, just the stupid ones)? Sat in the bleachers last night, and one fan tried to start the "Overrated" chant when Manny came up to the plate. Huh?! Cub fan in front me make fun of the Sox before the game. This "great Cubs fan" had no idea where the pitch speed was displayed- (all he had to do was look straight ahead and up); he left in the 7th inning.

4, Fukudome. For four months, he was loved by the Bleacher Bums. He has struggled mightily since the All-Star break. He and I have the same batting average in this playoff series (.000).

5. Lou- why are you starting Fukodome? (Great line from The Cubs Brickyard:

“I don’t think so. It’s worked pretty well so far,” Piniella said. “Why fix it if it isn’t broken? It’s for that same reason that I’m going to continue to start Kosuke Fukudome, despite the fact that he was the most pathetically, terrible, garbage hitter in all of baseball over the past few months. Heck, I might stick him back in the 2-hole.”

As a White Sox fan, part of me hates the Cubs. But, I feel for my friends like Wally, Geez , et al. Hey guys, remember how down I was a week ago- well it's not over yet, the Cubs can easily win three in a row. Just don't bet on it!

Cubs are now 0-7 in their last 7 post-season games. Wrigleyville tenses up. It up to Zambrano tonite- but which Zambrano shows-up tonight. Crazy Z or no-hitter Z.

Maybe Lou is not a great post-season manager?

CHICAGO CUBS v. DODGERS: Sorry, Ms. Milano, but the Cubs beat up in the Dodgers in 4 (either Zambrano or Lilly loses a game!)

Can the Angels finally get past the Red Sox? How can a team win 100 games and be overlooked? This is a tough one to pick, but I'm going with the Angels in 5.

With the first series about to start, time for the K-Line's baseball playoff predictions. While I would love to see the Brewers win this series for a possible Milwaukee-Chicago NLCS, I don't see it happening without Ben Sheets (CC can't pitch every game!). Plus, the Phillies have to make up for last year's sweep at the hands of the Rockies.
