Tressel Adds to His Suspension

I think there is more to come re NCAA sanctions. If I'm an investigative sports journalist, I pack my things and I go Columbus because I just have a feeling that if Tressel covered up one thing, he covered up more "transgressions."

Princeton with the lead.....

Could Kentucky and Louisville both lose in the first (now incorrectlly called the second) round?!

Morehead State over Louisville!

Big East, my ass!

THANK YOU, BUTLER FOR OFFICIALLY MAKING IT MARCH MADNESS!

Tip-in at the buzzer for the win over ODU!!!

MARCH MADNESS- PART 2

Clemson staying close enough to keep it interesting. (Tigers, need you for my brqackets!)
Butler- ODU is a great back and forth first round match-up!

March Madness- Part 1

Why play hookie from work? Just put a TV in your conference room.
Butler 47 ODU 43, with just over 10 minutes left!
Morehead State leads Louisville by a touchdown, very early!
Love that ALL the games are on TV. How could you not?
MARCH MADNESS!!

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE!!

Grant Hill's Response to Jalen Rose (Part II)

Since the NY Times had to edit his letter for space considerations, Grant Hill has posted on his website the full, unedited version.

Grant Hill's Response to Jalen Rose

in the NY Times!

http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/16/grant-hills-response-to-jalen-rose/?ref=sports

Maybe not as eloquent as Carlton stated it on "The Fresh Prince", (just kidding), an absolute must read. Grant mentions Professor John Hope Franklin, whom I was lucky enough to have (and I believe HM did, too) for a Constitutional History class at Duke Law. One of my two favorite professors at Duke Law. The other was Jerome Culp. Gee, how did that happen, since they were both African-American!?

Great job, Grant. Not only for the op-ed piece but for kicking the Fab Five's ass in the 1992 NCAA Championship game!

A Reminder From Last Year

Doing brackets is fun; but, more importantly enjoy the games!

(Best sports time of the year?)

March Madness- I Need Help With My Brackets!

Jalen Rose Should Have Watched "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

he could have learned something!
(I did!)

Your Morning Dose of K (Second Serving)

1. HM also has the link, but I have to reiterate that Jason Whitlock's column on the Fab Five is a must-read: http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketball/story/ESPN-The-Fab-Five-documentary-Jalen-Rose-Chris-Webber-Juwan-Howard-Jimmy-King-Ray-Jackson-031511
By the way, I am not saying that you should not watch the "Fab Five", just know it is a biased slanted film and not a documentary. ESPN employees, including Bill Simmons who is, unfortunately, becoming more and more of an ESPN corporate sell-out, will rave about it. Don't fall for it.

2. Watched both "The Fab Five" and HBO's doc on the UNLV Runnin' Rebels. No surprise that HBO's documentary is much better.

3. Notre Dame? What will be the continuing fall-out form the Declan Sullivan death and recent findings by the state. Keep an eye on that.

4. Not sure if I mentioned this, but the Bulls are #1 in the East!

Your Morning Dose of K!

1. Bulls- #1 in the East!
2. Adrian Petersen calls the NFL- "modern slavery!" Discuss among yourselves.
3. Yeah, the "First Four" are really play-in games, but I watched the first two games last night.
4. The Kyrie Irving will play talk is overtaking the tweet-iverse.
5. Da Bulls are #1 in the East!!!!!!

Loyola Coaching Candidates

(Continuing to ask my guardian angels to overlook the Loyola coaching search)

Sidney Lowe Out at NC State

That's two ACC coaches out. What do Hewitt and Lowe have in common? They both beat National Champion DUKE last year. Now they are unemployed.

IT Took Whitesell Being Fired For Loyola To Get Some ESPN Coverage!

Nice!

Hopefully this is a sign that Loyola will no longer settle for mediocrity!

Maybe Jeff Capel Should Have Taken the Arizona Job!

Looks like I gave Capel bad advice in 2009 (if indeed he truly was a candidate for the Arizona job). Today he was fired Oklahoma. Dude's only 36, so he has plenty of time to land on his feet.

Last year, it was reported that Paul Hewitt turned down the St. John's job to stay at Georgia Tech. GT fired him over he weekend. At least he got an extension last year from Tech with an alleged buyout of $7 million!! Hey, Paul, since you don't need the money why don't you come to Chicago and take the Loyola job!!!

Go to Hell, Carolina, Go to Hell Part II!

Wow- well, obviously this is not as cool as storming the court last week at Chapel Hill. Now that was so awesome!!!!!!
I guess we will have to be satisfied with simply being the 2011 ACC Champions, getting a trophy and winning 2 out of 3 from Carolina (but without a court storming!-sad!)
In other news, Cubs fans gloat over a Spring Training victory over the White Sox.
Oh well, hopefully my luck will change soon!

Appears Whitesell Is Out At Loyola- It's About TIme!

Jim Whitesell is a nice guy. Fine. Now time for the Ramblers to hire someone who is a nice guy and a winner! Whitesell will finish his Loyola career with a 109-106 record and three consecutive 8th place finishes in the Horizon League. You can't finish in 8th place three straight years and keep your job.

Hopefully the new AD will find the right fit. Someone who can make Bob Newhart proud!

Sox Play Charity Game in Tucson Tommorrow

It will mean alot of extra travel for Ozzie and some of the regulars, and I will only get to see a split squad on Monday, but well worth it as the Sox continue to give back to the community!

Carolina Spanks DUKE!

Very depressed this morning despite the sunny skies in Arizona.

Right now really miss Zoubek, Jon Scheyer and Lance Thomas. Of course, also praying that we can "Save Kyrie's Toe" and the return of any resemblance of the good Singler.
Well at least I have the Bulls and the Blackhawks.

Spring Training- Need to Bring the Sox A Win Today!!

At least Jake Peavey looked good, and more importantly was pain-free after his spring training debut.

White Sox 0 for Spring thus far!!

Don't worry, I will be there soon to bring my luck.
Of course, if the losing streak continues while I am out at Spring Training, I will blame PG and Badger!

IT IS Spring Training, but the Crazy Cubs are in Mid-Season Form!!

This time it does NOT involve BIG Z, but Fat Carlos.

Winning!!
