College Hoops, Baby!!

I know some of you are suffering from NFL withdrawal (better hope you don't have to get used to that during a labor lockout), but college hoops has filled the gap very well for me. Of course, DUKE beating Carolina helped, but this weekend featured Wisconsin beating OSU (OSU losing a 14 point lead in the second half-bad), Nova-Pitt, and Kentucky-Vandy.

If time permits, I will have some thoughts on Illini hoops, the top 25, and college coaches.

NFL Players Use Social Media To Garner Fan Support

on lockout/strike labor issues. Hey players, maybe you should use your energies to police yourselves. Union, try to keep your members off the police blotter might be a better way to have the average working man on your side. Today I have read that Albert Haynesworth has been charged with misdemeanor assault stemming from a road rage incident. Raiders RB Michael Bush charged with driving while intoxicated! I hear this and I think "rich, spoiled, privileged, athlete.' Not the way to garner my support.

BTW, Jennifer Aniston is also Today's Birthday Girl!

Lucas O'Rear Out For Season

One of my favorite non-Duke players from last year's tournament- Northern Iowa's Lucas O'Rear is out with an ankle fracture.

He's got a Polish Eagle tat on one arm and an Irish Shamrock on the other.

Yep, he' s Polish and Irish! He was also drafted by the Reds in the 2010 MLB draft.
