Why isn't today a holiday in Chicago?! In any case, it is a great day. First, the coolest kid I know, my nephew, J.P. turns 8 years old today. Second, yes it is the one year anniversary of the day that the White Sox won 2 World Series games (Game #3 finished somewhere around 1:00am) and captured the well deserved prize for Chicago- the World Series Championship!! As of today, the White Sox are still the reigning World Series Champions!! So , celebrate. Hell, we still talk about the '85 Bears here, so why not celebrate soemthing that happened a year ago!!
For the Badgers' fans out there! Hey, UIC Badger, the perfect girl for you? She like Entourage and she lives. or at least hangs out in Chicago!

Scandal! For some strange reason, this beautiful lass thinks she needs another boob job, but this time- a breast reduction!! There are many reasons offered but one reason is that she wants to be a mom and she thinks smaller breasts will better facilitate breast-feeding!! My married readers out there, help me out with this one!
At least she is not fat, injured and a computer stealer (an inside joke for the benefit of HM!!) http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tm_headline=jordan-to-have-fourth-boob-job---&method=full&objectid=17981007&siteid=94762-name_page.html

We don't need no stinkin' offense....The Bears MNF Curse was hovering around and around but thankfully was not able to finish the job this time...Brian Urlacher- the BEST defensive player in the NFL and maybe one of the top 5 players overall in the NFL... Did you catch Dennis Green in his postgame press conference? I can say this based on personal experience, Denny, try mediation, deep breathing, or just chill out!... Sexy Rexy, not so sexy! I guess Rex is not bringing "sexy back!"... You would think that Tony Kornheiser would mention the Urlacher-Leinart- Paris Hilton triangle at least once...Da Bears!! Da Bears!!

The University of Miami Hooligans! One of the nicest lawyers I know in Chicago is a University of Miami alum and a huge Miami football fan. I feel sorry for him and I am sure he is embarrassed beyond belief by the events that occurred at the Miami-FIU game. But the ACC better step in with much stiffer discipline than just one stinkin' game for some of the thugs. One game!! Guys get suspended for one game for missing practice or skipping practice!! THe one game suspension means that the Miami players will miss the DUKE game! So what- Miami will beat DUKE without those players!! And the TV analyst, Lamar Thomas, should never work another college sporting event on TV or radio!!

Juan Uribe in trouble!? Juan Uribe is under investigation for his potential involvement in a shooting. All the more reason for Kenny Williams to explore a trade for A-Rod?

Bye, Bye, Yankees! The best line-up in baseball history....my asp!! Hey, here's a thought try spending some money on pitching! Joe Torre, have you heard of pitch hitting in the late innings of games, especially when you might have Sheffield or Giambi on your bench? Apparently for $7 million dollars a year, Joe Torre's job is done once he makes the line-up card. Then he sits back and watchs A-Rot make an error and go 0-fer at the plate. Well, it looks like it will not matter next year as reports are that Torre is out and Pinella is in!

It's official: the Twins were crappy in the playoffs! You should read the entire aticle by Jim Caple at espn.com:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2006/columns/story?columnist=caple_jim&id=2615945 but here are the highlights:
Few teams could have played worse than the Twins the past four days, when they got swept by Oakland in the Division Series. They fielded terribly (three more errors in Game 3 on Friday after Torii Hunter's blunder in Game 2). They couldn't hit in the clutch (1-for-19 with runners in scoring position). They couldn't execute the fundamentals. And they never led.
"It's tough," Hunter said. "We just got outplayed. We just stunk." ..."Hunter is one of the game's best center fielders, but he had a bad series. His poor decision to dive for a sinking line drive cost the Twins dearly in Game 2 when it turned into a two-run inside-the-park home run, and another bad decision helped squander an early scoring opportunity Friday when he bunted Justin Morneau to third base after a leadoff double in the second inning. It rarely makes sense to play for one run that early in a game, and it didn't in this case either, especially after Morneau wound up rotting at third base.

It looks like the luck of "The K-Line" helped Big Frank put a Big Hurt on the Twins with 2 HRs (plus he barely missed another which pulled just foul). We will ahve to see if the ex-Sox factor will continue for the A's with Estaban Loaiza on the mound. Frankly, I think Loaiza sucks, but if Thomas continues at this pace.....
Can Big Frank (no relation) finally have a Big Postseason! ?Thomas is great at celebrating championships but not so godd at producing in the postseason! He has a 2005 World Series ring, but he wasn't on the postseason roster. He last time in the postseason-0 for 9 in the 2000 postseason. Without a huge series from Thomas, the A's have zero chance agaisnt the Twins. Even a monster series for the A's may not be enough. Here's hoping that Big Frank finally gets to play in a World Series and build on his Hall of Fame creditials!
