Before we start heaping loads of praise upon Tony Larussa, let me ask you: how did he manage the Cardinals to only win 83 games in the regular season?

Who cares how many games he won during the regular season. He's winning when it counts and it would be nice for ol' Tony to win one without McGuire around.
Although I stand by my prediction-Cardinals in 6-I have no strong feeling about the series. The Cards are somehow winning the games when they really need to. The Tigers appear to be down and lackluster. Managing has alot to do with that. Still, of the two manager, I favor Jim L. He gives the appearance of a crusty old vetran--a throw back to a by-gone era in baseball. AND he still smokes butts in the corner of the dugout. He may not be a great role model for young kids, but I just love it! He has a solid baseball mind and has done wonders with the Tigers. Whether he can continue this ride into next season, I do not know. But for the moment, he is the man. Next year we will have Sweet Lou. Just watch, Lou is going to do wonders for the Cubs in his first season or two.
D3D, I think the rain outs will help the Tigers. Sweet Lou, as soon as he learns that the Sox are on the Southside and the Cubs play on the Northside, he should do fine!

Still- very overrated as a manager!
