JUST GOT BACK FROM WRIGLEY FIELD, WHERE-SURPRISE, SURPRISE-KERRY WOOD BLEW ANOTHER SAVE. He has blown 3 saves on 7 chances- great! Alright Cubs fans (I was rooting for the Brew Crew), so it's basically 50-50 that Kerry Wood will blow it in a save opportunity! You are not going to win the World Series with those kind of stats in your closer (unless you score 19 runs in every game like the Cubs did on Wednesday!) Still don't understand why you don't at least try Marmol (who was great in finishing the 7th and the 8th innings) in the closer role. Don't give me that crap that Marmol doesn't have the experience top be the closer. Just take a look across town and see what the young Jenks did in 2005. If Marmol doesn't work as your closer, then go back to Kerry Wood- what do you lose with that approach. No, instead Cubs fans would rather vine about Soriano in the lead-off spot! Focus on the real problem- the bullpen!! BTW, Cubs are now out of 1st place. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280501116
how about:
ReplyDeleteARod 15 day DL
Jorge: All Star beak if lucky
Bruney: gone
Hughes: MAYBE all-star break
Being a loyal sports fan honestly sucks.
yep!
ReplyDeleteYes, Wood should not be the closer. He should be in middle relief. Ideally, he should be the go-to guy when the starter gets taken out in the third inning or so with the cubs down 7-0.

Badger- I was glad to help your Brewers (with my negative mojo!)
ReplyDeleteGo Brew Crew!
ReplyDeleteThey will soon get really hot and fade in September, as usual.
