Mark "The Bird" Fidrych dead at 54

Unfortunately,there is little video of Fidrych pitching with the Tigers. Those of you too young to remember, well during his rookie season, he captivated a nation. And he looked just like the guy from "The Greatest American Hero."
He was an original character and for that one year, a great pitcher. In this day and age, he would have signed a huge contract after than first year and made a killing in endorsements. Sadly, not of that occurred for The Bird, as he made little money from baseball.

RIP, Mark Fidrych, RIP.
