1. While I disagree with PG that Bruce Pearl is the best college b-ball coach in America (second best basketball coach at his own school!)- what a great hire for Tennessee several years ago!! He has already done something no one else has ever done as Tenn's men bb coach (no, not painting his chest orange)- a #1 ranking. Illini fans still hate him- but tell me honestly Illini nation whom would you rather have as you coach: Weber or Pearl. 2. Speaking of U of I, you got to give Weber at least one more year. See how he does with next year's recruits, including the transfer from Kentucky. 3. Northwestern basketball- just a lost cause? 4. Watched "We Own the Night" this weekend. Pretty good cop drama. Have to recommend it if for no other reason than the opening scene with Eva Mendes. More erotic than the late night stuff on HBO/Cinemax. 5. Finally, Jennifer Walcott deserves at least a once a week pic on the K-Line. Don't care what you say-that's what I am doing!!
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY WISHES go out to Ms. Jennifer Love Hewitt (#29). We will focus on some slightly older pictures of Love, i.e., the Hot Jennifer Love Hewitt (rent the movie: "Heartbreakers") rather than the more recent, "fat" Hewitt.
Cubs Third baseman, Aramis Ramirez, is involved in cock-fighting, according to the New York Times. PETA is gonna have a field day with this (Maybe Pamela Anderson and other Peta hotties will protest in front of Wrigley Field!)
There is enough Sports news to report on without talking about the congressional hearings, so the K-Line will give you a break at least for today.
1. NCAA investigates major violations by Indiana University basketball programs. I can hear the chants coming from Bloomington all the way up to Chicago: "Bring Bobby Knight back!"
2. Looks like Jason Kidd is heading (back) to Dallas.
3. On Saturday moring, UIC Badger told me that he thought that Purdue was the best team in the Big Ten. Since then, Purdue beats Wisconsin in Madison and then beat Michigan State last night, as the Boildermakers sit atop the Big Ten
Since my three favorite bloggers- Andy, HM and me!- are all "under the weather" (personally, I am not a big fan of that phrase- I don't feel good!), hopefully this picture will left our spirits and help us feel better.
Here's a great recruiting story about a kid who holds a press conference stating that he is signing with Cal. The problem- Cal didn't recruit him! He probably wasn't recruited by any major college football team. So is this from the "Drew Rosenhaus school of self-promotion?" Or, was this kid and his family conned by a person claiming to be a recruting expert?
Can you blame him? Three of his Patriot teammates were on the offensive line, and he ain't going through that again...Giants' defensive line dominated the Pats' o-line, pure and simple- and that's why the G-men won... Junior Seau, time to f-ing retire already. Did anyone see Junior make A play in the Super Bowl?...Does Moss come back or does he go for the big money?
