ESPN is reporting that the Cubs have signed signed Ryan Dempster to a 4 year deal worth $52 million.

THANKSFULLY A MINNESOTA TWINS IS NOT THE AL MVP!!

Red Sox second baseman, Dustin Pedoria, here pictured with his attractive wife, Kelli Hatley, beat out that first baseman with the Twins for MVP honors in the AL.

Youkillis beats out Mauer for third!? Pleease! White Sox Carlos Quentin finishes fifth.

(time to look for more pictures of Kelli Hatley)
Good trivia question (courtesy of "Paulie M")- who was the last Red Sox to win AL MVP?

WILL BULLS SURVIVE ANNUAL CIRCUS TRIP?

D Rose and the Bulls start a seven game road trip with tonite game against the Devil and the Lakers. Vacating the UC as the circus takes its place has not been kind to the Bulls since the days of MJ. If the Bulls somehow return home with a 3-4 record, that will be a huge success.

THE BEANIE WELLS HURDLE!

In case you didn't see Ohio State tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells hurdle over an Illini defender, you must see this play (despite the fact that Andre Ware is the color commentator).

CARMEN ELECTRA STILL HOT ENOUGH FOR PLAYBOY?

I'm guessing the answer is YES!

Carmen Electra is once again scheduled to appear in Playboy!
It's the January issue, which will be out in December. Because I'm a good guy- I will obtain a copy of this magazine and report back to you as to the quality of this photos!!

IDIOTS OF THE DAY AWARD!

1. Donovan McNabb- As I first found out from The Bob Mantz Blitz: Sports and Satire

http://njfrogman.blogspot.com/2008/11/bird-brained-mcnabb-didnt-know-game.html

McNabb didn't know that the Eagles-Bengals game could end in a tie!? Huh?! I knew that. Why wouldn't someone mention that to him durign the overtime? Did he think that the teams would keep playing more and more overtimes until someone scored (or quit!). If that was not dumb enough, I then heard part of Donovan's interview on espn radio, where he tried to defend his naivete by stating: "I would hate to see that in a playoff game or the Super Bowl-a tie. A playoff game or a Super Bowl ending in a tie!" No, in the playoffs or the Super Bowl, you would keep playing until someone scored. Wow- that fine Mt. Carmel High and Syracuse educations!

2. Bears Defensive players/defensive coaching staff, including Lovie. Packers 37-Bears 3. E'nuff said.

3. Me- for watching the entire disgusting Packers thrashing of the Bears yesterday! Should have switched to the CMT Marathon of The Dallas Cowboys' Cheerleaders!

Ms. K sits Courtside at Knicks' Games!!

Time for me to put a call into Glen Grunwald for Knicks' tix!

OMG- I AGREE WITH GREG DOYEL!!

For a couple of weeks now, I have been saying that it will be Oklahoma v. Florida in the BCS championship game. BTW, here's a lokk back at the K-Line's

Preseason Top Five:
1. OKLAHOMA
2. FLORIDA
3. OHIO STATE
4. CLEMSON
5. GEORGIA

Let's just forget about Pre-season pick's 3-5. Anyway, back to Greg Doyel. His most recent column- OU and Florida, best in college football.
Was concerned that Greg Doyel and I were in agreement on something. Then realized, stating that Oklahoma and Florida are the best teams in college football is not too much of a stretch. It's like stating that Marisa Miller is hot! That might be some disagreement, but c'mon...

MORE ON DIRTY THIRTY

ESPN.com is now reporting that
the White Sox are getting three players from the Bronx Bombers-
Wilson Betemit, Jhonny Nunez and
Jeff Marquez.

Don't know what to believe? For example, Nick Swisher was once rumored to be dating this young lady. Once again, I don't know if it's true!
(BTW, her website's no longer active.)

KERRY WOOD- NO POSTSEASON SAVES, SO "SEE YA"

The Cubbies just traded for Marlins RP Kevin Gregg. Big deal, you say?! Well, Jim Hendry took the opportunity to state the the Cubs, in all likelihood, will not be resigning Kerry Wood!
Cubs' fans- are you happy or sad to see Kerry Wood go?
Will Marmol be the new closer with Gregg as the set-up guy?

TAKE CARE, DIRTY THIRTY

ESPN is reporting that the White Sox have traded Nick Swisher to the Yankees for minor league P Jeff Marquez. What do I know about Jeff Marquez? Nothing except this scouting report:
http://mariners.scout.com/a.z?s=318&p=2&c=347065

Does this mean Paul Konerko will not be traded?
But, this is not the only bit of baseball news coming out of the Windy City.

Things I'm Thinking about...

besides "Obama Girl's" role in the transition team.
1. Has Entourage "Jumped the Shark" this season? What was with the return of Seth Green last episode? Not a good season for what was once one of TV's best shows.
2. Lou Pinella wins the NL Manager of the Year (Charlie Manuel finishes second). Is it time that MLB starts doing the voting for its awards after the post-season? And speaking of the Manager of the Year voting, who the brainiac who voted for Gardenhire over Joe Maddon as AL Manager of the year? You want to vote Gardy second, that's fine but you HAVE to vote for Maddon as AL Manager of the Year.
3. In case you care-just watched the movie The Lookout last night. Highly recommend it.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAYS!!!

We haven't done this in awhile and there certainly are some sport birthdays to recognize- Lance Briggs, Greg Gagne and Sammy Sosa. However, rather than posting their pics, let's post pictures and wish Happy Birthday to 2002 Playboy Playmate of the Year, Dalene Kurtis, and actress, Anne Hathaway

CHARLIE WEIS-JOB IN DANGER?

While I doubt that Charlie Weis could get fired after this season (okay, maybe if they lose to Navy, Syracuse and USC), the media is ready to jump all over him.
Why won't he get fired this season?
1. Huge Contract
2. ND will not fire him the same season that Ty Willingham gets fired.
3. WHO would replace him?
Not surprising, considering the fact that Weis act like an egotistical tyrant in front of the media. On the other hand, Charlie Weis supporters out there- please tell me WHY Charlie Weis deserves to keep his job? Here a few articles bashing Weis. The first from one of the K-Line's favorite, Jason Whitlock, is right on the money!

DUKE BASKETBALL BEGINS THE 2008-9 SEASON TONIGHT AGAISNT PREBYTERIAN COLLEGE.
PC's nickname- I kid you not, its the "Blue Hose"!

MIA: BEARS PASS DEFENSE!
Remember when the Bears used to pressure the Quarterback? When the Bears actually sacked the quarterback? Can the Bears still stop the run- yep; so what if your an opposing QB, just throw the the ball 80% of the time.
Who's to blame? Lots of people!

Candidate for MVP- Kurt Warner!
Check out his current stats and projected stats:
Another MVP (#3-as many as Favre) means that he's gots to be a Hall of Famer, no?

TONY! TONY! TONY!
I know it was double overtime, but 55 points and 10 assists!

OAKLAND RAIDERS-BAD
TECH RED RAIDERS-GOOD

Maybe Al Davis hires Mike Leach to coach the Oakland Raiders?

PROOF THAT NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL STILL SUCKS.....
Check out ESPN's "Bottom 10 " football teams. Four of the bottom 10 are on Notre Dame's schedule (Fighting Irish desperately trying to add North Texas to next year's schedule!) and a fifth team- Purdue would probably make a Bottom 20 list. Best team that ND has beaten thus far- a 5-4 Stanford team?! Makes me sick (or "Ditka-mad") when I hear that ND is one win away from being bowl-eligible.

ARE YOU READY FOR COLLEGE HOOPS-IT'S RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!
