IT JUST GOT EASIER FOR ME TO HATE THE CELTICS!

While it is certainly vogue to rip on A-Rod and other baseball steroid users, I got to tell you that it is hard of me to think of an athlete I dislike more than Stephon Marbury. What a selfish, useless waste of space!
Now I know some of you have a man-love for Kevin Garnett (I am talking about you, HM), but I can't imagine that man-love would be so intense that you would root for Marbury and the Celtics!

MANGINI GETS RIDS OF KELLEN WINSLOW, JR.

ESPN is reporting that Winslow was traded to the Bucs for draft picks.

IN BETTER NEWS FOR THE BULLS...

The Bulls visited President Obama at the White House yesterday.

NORM VAN LIER- LOVED BY BULLS FANS, YOUNG AND OLD

I was stuck in the car for about 2 hours today, so I got to listen to callers with their stories about Norm Van Lier. One caller recalled meeting Stormin' Norman when he was about 10 years old in line at a McDonald's with his dad. After asking his father who the familiar looking person was, his father told him it was Norm Van Lier. His father introduced himself and his son to Norm. Norm asked the young kid if he played sports and the kid told him that he was in Little League. The father and son sat down at a booth to eat, when the kid felt a tap on his shoulder. It was Norm, who asked if he could sit down and eat with the two of them. They talked about Little League about sports.

I have been lucky enough to run into Norm a couple of times at sporting events and the radio promotions. I took a photo with him at one of those events and that picture hangs in my office.

RIP, Norm.

Sad Day in Chicago- Norm Van Lier Has Died

As someone said on the radio this afternoon- "Norm did not like to miss a party."

Hopefully, the Bulls will now retire his #2.

More on Stormin' Norman later.

Giving Up Coffee for Lent? Ah, no!

In the past, I have tried to give up coffee for lent. But that never works out real well. Caffeine withdrawal is not fun. Now there is another reason why I am glad that I am not giving up coffee:

But I may give up Starbucks abnd $2.50 for a cup of coffee.

NBA TRADE WINNERS AND LOSERS-ACCORDING TO ESPN

While I wait for HM's NBA trade analysis, I will have to rely on ESPN's "experts"!

According to the "experts": Winners- the Bulls!

T-Wolves Get Bobby Brown!?

I'm sure that HM will report on the new T-Wolves!
Check his blog early and often!

33 Points for the Illini- CONGRATS!!

When the Illini scored 36 points against the Gophers, I was told that the Gophers were a very good defensive team.

Therefore, the Penn State Nittany Lions must be a GREAT defensive team!

BULLS GET BRAD MILLER & JOHN SALMONS?!

It is being reported that the Bulls have traded Drew Gooden and Nocioni for Brad Miller and John Salmons!

First it was Amare Stoudamire; then it was Chris Bosh. But instead the Bulls get Brad Miller!!!?

Chief Wahoo? Lou Pinella Thinks He Is Managing the Cleveland Indians

In response to the fact that President Obama is a Chicago White Sox fan.
"We got to get him a Cub hat over there," Piniella said. "We can sneak Chief Wahoo over there."
(Reporters wondering what the ?)
"Who is it?" Piniella said "Yeah, Ronnie Wahoo."
Lou meant Ronnie Woo-Woo.

Might Jose Contretras Be Ready For the Start of the Season

If so, could be a huge plus for the Sox

NBA RUMOR TIME: BOSH TO THE BULLS?

The latest rumor has Bosh coming to the Bulls as part of a three team trade with the Raptors getting Stoudamire and Phoenix getting Tyrus Thomas and Drew Gooden.

On "Mike and Mike" this morning...

(during a brief break from A-Rod overload), Greeny stated that if the Vikings sign Jeff Garcia (Playboy wife not included) that would make them the favorite in the NFC!

Ramblers Upset #15 Butler Bulldogs!!

A small bit of celebration (and maybe a job saver for Jim Whitesell) in an otherwise disappointing year for the Ramblers.

THE JOHN PAXSON WATCH IS ON!

Gar Foreman to take over as Bulls' GM

Sun-Times and others (but apparently not ESPN, yet!) reporting that Bulls to make another run at Doug Collins for the GM post or possibly GM/ Coach!

Have to be mobile for several hours today (the beautiful drive from Chicago to Waukegan), so Sports Radio should keep me entertained with reports, rumors, speculation and innuendos!

PAXSON TO RESIGN AS BULLS' GM? LOOKS THAT WAY

Not much time today, so here's the latest without regard to spelling and/or grammar.
1. Peter Vescey (big deal!) reprots that Paxson will resign as Bulls' GM shortly after the All-Star Break.
Now HM told me long ago that Vescey simply makes up half the stuff in his column, so I disregard this.
2. Moments later, the SCORE's Fred Hubner confirms that Paxson is indeed resigning.
3. Reinsdorf responds to the Vescey rumor by stating that "Vescey is not a credible source" (true: see above), so there is no need to respond to Vescey's claim. He doesn't mention Hubner's story!

It looks like Paxson is retiring and it is an actually retiring and not Pax being forced out (Reinsdorf is extremely loyal to Pax).

If I get a chance, more to follow.

Peace out!

PENN STATE UPSETS MICHIGAN STATE

Big Ten- competitive or just crappy?

SUPER BOWL PICK

He's a White Sox fan, a Bears fan and he's picking the Steelers. The similarities between President Barak Obama and myself are amazing.
Growing up, my second favorite NFL team was the Steelers- Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, etc., etc. But it is hard not to root for the Cardinals. Plus, it will be great to see how often it is mentioned that only the Cubs have a longer title drought than the Cardinals. The Chicago-St. Louis-Arizona Cardinals.
Rooting for the Cardinals; picking the Steelers.
Steelers: 34-27.
