CHARLIE WEIS-JOB IN DANGER?

While I doubt that Charlie Weis could get fired after this season (okay, maybe if they lose to Navy, Syracuse and USC), the media is ready to jump all over him.
Why won't he get fired this season?
1. Huge Contract
2. ND will not fire him the same season that Ty Willingham gets fired.
3. WHO would replace him?
Not surprising, considering the fact that Weis act like an egotistical tyrant in front of the media. On the other hand, Charlie Weis supporters out there- please tell me WHY Charlie Weis deserves to keep his job? Here a few articles bashing Weis. The first from one of the K-Line's favorite, Jason Whitlock, is right on the money!

Weis has done a decent job of recruiting D-1 level defensive players. That is a big improvement. I think that if you gave him two more years of recruiting, ND could have a good (top 25) defense.

Weis has had two HUGE dead spots: 1) Jimmy Clausen -- in college you win with mobile QBs who can avoid negative yardage plays and picks. Clausen is a terrible college QB. My son is 13 in December and he could throw 6 TDs to Michael Floyd. What you need from a college QB is to avoid sacks and INTS. Clausen does neither.

2) Running back -- I am embarrassed to watch a Notre Dame game and see the effort of their RBs. Weis has the #3 ranked back in the nation coming in next year: http://rivals100.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=64433. If he is a good back, maybe they can run the ball down the field and Clausen won't have to do much?
