Two Out of Three Ain't Bad

Long winning streaks are great, but the key for the rest of the season will be to win as many series as possible.
Each of the three games decided by 1 run and good teams win the close, 1 run games.
Back home, finally, for the White Sox, with a series against the very hot LA Angels.

Tuesday Was A.J. Day!

Relax RKG & HM, this isn't about Pierzynski. At least not entirely.

1. A.J. Burnett came damn close to no-hitting the Cubbies. Now the simple fact that I decided not to go to the game with RKG & SK meant that there was a good chance that Burnett would in fact pitch a no-no. As some of you know, I had tickets to the Buerhle perfect game but I went to doctor's appointment instead. Will regret that for the rest of my life!! But anyway, a i hitter complete game by the "Yankees' reject"

2. Okay, A.J. Pierzynski had a pretty good night himself. First, scores the tying run (with some nice hustle from second base) after getting HBP. Then hit a 2-run homer in the 9th to give the White Sox the win.

Not sure that everyone in the world named A.J. had a great Tuesday. My internet search skills are not proficient!

Finally, Bye-Bye Dempster

Our long national nightmare is finally over- as the Cubs trade Dempster to the Texas Rangers! It will be interestign to see how how Demp does in the American League.

At the very least this should mean no more "Will Ferrell doing Harry Carey impressions-hopefully!

Cubs "Fire Sale" Begins- Well,Kind of!

Geo Soto (once predicted by Cubs' fans to be a repeat All-Star) goes to the Texas Rangers.

But hours away from the trade deadline, Ryan Dempster is still a Cub. Word is that Dempster is adamant about wanting to go to the Dodgers. Dempster is slated to start tonight against the Pirates. If he does start for the Cubbies tonite, i.e., he's not traded, there should be a good smothering of boos at The Friendly Confines!! Worse news for  all of us is that we may be stuck with Dempster doing his impression of Will Ferrell doing an impression of Harry Caray. Yeah, haven't seen enough of that!!

Idiot caller on the Score right now- Cubs are holding all the cards re Dempster! Dodgers have to give up alot for Dempster if they want him!!
