With the Pale Hose continuing to nose-drive at warp speed, I have to wonder where this would rank on the all-time worst baseball collapses. After looking at this list, it may rank no worse than third, maybe second. But, yes Cubs fans, it would rank ahead of the '69 Northsiders.

Randy Hundley caught 151 games for the Cubs in 1969! 151 games! Amazing. I don't see how they can rate the Red Sox's collapse above the Phillies' 1964 collapse. The Phillies sucked so bad that they didn't even finish second alone. The Red Sox at least forced a tie and lost in a playoff.

HM as alsways brings up a good point. THe Red Sox did force a one-game play-off ("Bucky Dent, Bucky Dent, Bucky Dent!!"), so technically they did make the playoffs!!
