1. White Sox place Paul Konerko on the 15 day DL. With the Chicago Showdown on back to back weekends, that means Paulie and Soriano will miss both series.
2. Sun-Times sign Jay Mariotti to a contract extension! WTF!?!? Well, at least there are plenty of anti-Jay Mariotti websites:

I'm not okay with the Cuban pic.
Just looked up Paulie's birthplace last week (indeed, R.I.!), because he's my nephew's favorite Sox. Mariotti LOVES Cuban and approximately once every 2 weeks will write that Cuban buying the Cubs would be awesome!
