BASEBALL ALL-STAR EDITION

1. Brett Favre Soap Opera- I don't care if Brett comes back, if he goes to another team (unless it's the Bears or the Vikings), or he's a "back-up" for the Pack (ha!), but one thing is clear. It is even more apparent that SI naming Brett Favre as "Sportsman of the Year" was a joke (unless SI's definition of "Sportsman" is different than mine). Brett Favre cares about himself a hell of alot more than he cares about the Pack or the NFL. Brett Favre being a mentor for Aaron Rodgers- please! He has been no help for Aaron thus far.
2. Players voting for All-Stars- not so good: Jason Varitek (A.J. - if you weren't the most hated player in baseball, you would be in with much better stats than Varitek); Joe Crede (deserved it in 2005 and 2006, but not this year. For White Sox position players, I would rank these players as deserving the All-Star nod before Crede: 1. Carlos Quinton, 2. JD, 3. A.J., 4. Cabrera and then 5. Crede); and Carlos Marmol (picked to replace Kerry Wood because he had the next highest amount of votes from his fellow players).
