Early vote for this year's Worst Bowl Game:
Independence Bowl, Dec. 30, 2007. First, this game is in Shreveport, Louisiana. No offense, but it is pretty difficult to get excited about that. The Match-up: Alabama vs. Colorado. Both teams are 6-6 (Bowl eligible!!). So Nick Saban has a chance to have a winning record in his first season with the Crimson Tide. The losing team finishes 6-7!

Losing to Cody Hawkins would be Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and Hiroshima all rolled into one for the Crimson Tide. This titanic struggle is bigger than the World Series, the World Cup and World War II combined.
We have all had people close to us die; but that would be nothing compared to a Bama loss here.
Shreveport -- underrated. Most people consider it a poor man's Spartanburg, South Carolina. I consider it a poor man's Longview or Tyler, Texas.
Great post (it took me a second or two). No mention of our (2?) classmates who hail from Shreveport!
my girl is a HUGE FSU fan...so I'm happy for her that the got a bowl bid (Motor City)...but come on...
Andy, I think you menat the Music City Bowl (there's only 32 bowls to keep straight!)
I was in the Shreveport airport at 11:45 one night -- flight was 50 minutes late.
Rental car company employee.......................left and went home for the night.
I had to be in Longview by 8Am the next day. Fortunately some car rental agency I had never heard of was still open and got me a car.
Did you see fellow Duke Law Mr. Campbell?
