MAYBE PETE CARROLL IS RIGHT!!

Pete Carroll is getting slammed for, as far as I can tell, stating that Mark Sanchez may not be ready for the pros. Of course, Carroll must be selfish and care more about himself and his program (because of course, USC doesn't have two other High School All-American QBs on its roster!!). Pete Carroll doesn't care about Mark Sanchez.

Hey, just maybe Pete Carroll (even if he is wrong) does have Mark Sanchez's best intentions in mind.

Reminds me of 1999 when the media slammed Coach K when he stated that Will Avery made a mistake in declaring for the NBA draft after his sophomore season and only one season as a starter at DUKE. My recollection is that (and HM and TG will correct me if I'm wrong) is that Avery's mom stated that Coach K only cared about DUKE and he didn't care about her kid. Oh really, Duke already had a commitment from Jason (Jay) Williams who replaced Avery at point guard and made the ALL-ACC rookie team. Avery? Turned out to be a complete NBA bust.

Coach K was 100% right about Avery. DUKE- the best thing for DUKE may have been Avery leaving early and DUKE won the National Championship 2 years later with Jason Williams and Chris Duhon at the guard positions.

So just maybe, Pete Carroll is right.

Well said, K.

Avery did make 4mm as a perĂ² with basically no talent. So maybe leaving wasn't a bad idea.

Well Sanchez will also make his money- but if you are going to ask the coach his opinion, then don't get mad if he states that his opinion is he should stay.
