Yes, clearly a penalty! Again, I don't get why the Lions would set themselves up to get such a stupid/costly penalty called against them. The refs gave the Lions the game with this non-call.
From this day forward, I will stop complaining about last year's "loss" to the Bears on Game 1 (yes, Calvin Johnson clearly caught a touchdown pass to beat the Bears), and I hope other Lions fans do too, because the Lions clearly should have lost the game yesterday (I don't know what the refs were looking at because that was an obvious face mask and I am assuming the Vikings would have scored on the next play).
There is no question that the Lions got a break here. This "win" against the Vikings truly cancels out last years "loss" to the Bears. That "loss" really set the tone for all of the bad luck the Lions had last season in losing all of those close games. I hope this "win" does the reverse.
