Bad News for Certain Big Ten Fans :
1. Michigan Football: Michigan loses to App. State at the Big House (people are going to bring this one up all season long). 2. Wisconsin Football: Here's a surprise- a Wisconsin football player in trouble with law! Badgers No.2 RB Lance Smith will not travel with the team to road games (good news for Illinois, Penn State, Ohio State and the Gophers) because of a July indictment for allegedly pushing his girlfriend during a fight over cab fare (I kid you not!), refusing to let her leave his apartment and took her money and shoes (what is it with Wisconsin and shoes!). Luckily he will be allowed to play at home against The Citadel! 3. Illini Basketball. What is the common lament that Illini fans have about Bruce Weber? "He can coach but he can't recruit." Well thing could get worse for the Illini as Weber has lost one of his assistant coaches/recruiters Tracy Webster who is leaving to join the Kentucky staff.
