I should have known that Thome wasn't going to hit #500 on Saturday (but at least I got to listen to DUKE holding on to a victory over the Northwestern Mild-cats). Of course, he was going to hit it on Sunday- Jim Thome Bobblehead Day!! But not only does he hit it on Jim Thome Bobblehead Day, but it's a walk-off! Apparently the first time that #500 was a walk-off. One of the very few high-lights (this and Buerhle's no-hitter) in a bad season on the Southside!! Hopefully Thome's back will let him play 2 more seasons on the Southside. Congrats to a class act (who had enough sense to get the hell out of Cleveland-sorry, Whitey!)
